Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great time celebrating the Holidays!
A few days ago, I received the finalized pixel art commission of two of my book characters. Here they are - Drew Napoli and Telly Hearly by the amazing OmegaChainoBoy!
Earlier in 2022, I had commissioned Felipe (OmegaChainoBoy) to do my first two book characters, Emerald and Kyle. At the time, it was a very last minute decision. Felipe announced he had some open slots to take on commissions, and I had been a fan of his for a long time. If anyone knows me, I love to support artists who I love and inspire me. His prices were reasonable, enough to make me jump on the opportunity.
After I got my first set of characters back (see above), I had asked him to let me know if he ever had openings again, and that I'd get two more characters done by him. After the second set was delivered (see below) toward the end of 2022, it then became my personal collectible obsession.
I already have used the art for a tshirt design, as well as a wallpaper for Patreon. I plan on doing something collectible with the art for the release of my third novel later this year. Normally, I give out character trading cards (which I still plan on doing with this book release.) Instead of the normal 6-8 character cards I give out with the purchase of an author copy of my book, I plan on giving out 4 character cards, along with these pixel art cards. Also included for the third book will be a special painting of Emerald and Kyle that I had commissioned by another artist I love and admire. Of course, more news of this towards my book release, but at least you are in the know. Most likely, there will be two more pixel arts of my characters later this year, making a total of 8 characters to collect!
As for my third book - here's an update. This month I am finishing up my personal revisions for 'Fragments of the Heart.' January 31st is the deadline to send to my developmental editor. It's sitting over 200k words, and plan to have 30k added to it. As I been revising the story, I have realized that I needed more in areas that I felt were 'undeveloped.' I'll make a detailed post about this as it gets closer to the end of the month. I have a lot of time this month set aside to focus and get my manuscript done and ready for my editor.
Also, since it was the holidays and I had family visiting, I hadn't kept up on my messages. If you have messaged me on any platform, I promise I am sorting through them and will get back to you in the next few days.
Thanks everyone! Much love and cheers to an amazing 2023!
